As we embark on the month of Ramadan, February 17th - March 19th. We extend my warmest wishes to our Muslim students, families, and staff.
Ramadan is a time for reflection, family, community, and charity. We understand some students will be fasting, either fully or partially, during the day. Starting on February 18th, we will have an alternative location available for students during lunch who observe Ramadan and prefer not to be in the cafeteria.
Students have the option to spend their lunch break in the Media Center, where they can immerse themselves in a book or a quiet activity. We have designated a private space for those who need it for midday prayers.
We ask that remind your student(s) of not only the school expectations, but also your families expectations during this time.
After this form has been submitted, please have your child stop by the front office to pick up their pass to access this space.
You may also send in a note to school with your child if you prefer or email to DMSOffice@hcpss.org with your childs name and grade.
Please submit a request form for each child at DMS that will need a pass.
